several area towns.
Bond: over $200,000.00
Described as an white male, 5'3" tall, 150 lbs, shaved head with tattoos
on his neck and arms. |

The WHPD arrested Israel Amaro, a man who was wanted on warrants exceeding
$100,000 and who the WHPD had spent days looking for. The arrest came
just before 1PM on 2/8/2010 following a tip from New Haven PD and an alert witness who had
spotted Israel’s picture on a television broadcast. The tipster flagged
down Officer David Hancock and provided him with the last known direction of Amaro. Members of the patrol division, including
Officer Hancock and Officer Doug Bauman, searched the area
and located him near his home on Mix Avenue. Amaro attempted to flee, but
was quickly apprehended by officers.
