The West Haven Police Department’s Crime Analysis Unit is responsible for compiling and interpreting data regarding crime and reported incidents. The Crime Analysis Unit is supervised by Captain Richard DiMeola and employs civilian crime analysts.

Crime Analysis Reports
The West Haven Police Department’s Crime Analysis Unit implements crime mapping and data analysis through Lexis Nexis Community Crime Map. This information is available through Lexis Nexis Community Crime Map (http://www.communitycrimemap.com/). The crime map below provides information you need to stay informed.
The software defaults to show only Part 1 crimes (considered by the FBI to be the most serious, these include violent crimes and property crimes). To see all crime types, or to select specific crime types to view, click on “Events” under the menu on the left and select your preferences.
The software also defaults to show Part 1 crimes West Haven Police took reports for in the last two weeks. To change the time period for which reports are shown, click on “Date Range” under the menu on the left and select your preferences.
