Welcome to the West Haven Animal Shelter

The West Haven Animal Shelter is a municipal animal shelter dedicated to serving the community of West Haven Connecticut. The shelter staff includes (5) full time Animal Control Officers that are certified by the State of Connecticut and are held to the highest standards with continuous yearly training requirements. The shelter is also assisted with (3) part-time Animal Care Technicians that work closely with Animal Control Officers during their daily shelter tasks.  Animal Control Officers respond to calls when public safety is an issue. We provide for and protect abandoned, abused, neglected animals, as well as, finding qualified homes for our furry friends. We promote animal welfare through programs and services that mutually benefit animals and pet owners. Pet Adoption events are often held at the animal shelter to help further promote our animals that are need of a new home.
